Nash County deputies train with LAPD's SWAT team

Nash County sheriff’s deputies traveled last week to Los Angeles to train with the Los Angeles Police Department’s SWAT team.

Nash County deputies received training in tactics, team movements, firearms training and observed how LAPD’s SWAT team gathers insight on how to respond to an emergency.

“The Nash County Sheriff’s Office is committed to seeking and finding the best training available for our members,” the sheriff’s office wrote on a Facebook post.

The Nash County Sheriff’s Office thanked the LAPD for the training.

In the 1960s, Los Angeles police developed SWAT, special weapons and tactics.

Law enforcement officers from all over the world travel to train with LAPD, the sheriff’s office said.
