Firefighters on Thursday morning were back at the scene of a brush fire near Zebulon that reignited in a wooded area along Rosinburg Road.
The fire, which started near an abandoned home Wednesday afternoon, was caused by burning trash. Zebulon Fire Chief Chris Perry said the fire reignited several times throughout the night.

At 4 p.m., a small fire was still burning at the site of a near century-old farmhouse.
North Carolina is in a drought, and Perry urged people to refrain from burning due to the dry and windy conditions.
"Burning is just not recommended," he said. "There are times of the year when you can burn leaves, you can burn sticks, and you can do it safely. If you must, have a water hose where you can keep it wet around it and extinguish any fires that grow.”
Crews told WRAL News the Wake County Sheriff's Office discovered the fire on Wednesday afternoon. WRAL’s Sky 5 flew over the scene and saw large flames engulfing the area.
The Zebulon Fire Department responded to the fire along with crews from Hopkins, Pilot and Ferrells.
"Windy conditions, dry conditions," said Zebulon Fire Chief Chris Perry. "It spreads so quickly and much more quickly than what we're used to seeing."
Perry said that though Thursday's rain will help the situation, people should avoid the area this weekend with the ground being so dry in recent months.
"You just got to be really, really careful," Perry said. "We get these rains, that certainly helps, for sure. But we've got to be really, really careful, because the ground content is just so dry right now."
Fire officials said people should avoid the area. The Wake County Fire Marshal's Office is investigating.
This is one of two brush fires Wake County crews were investigating on Wednesday.
A large brush fire sparked Wednesday afternoon in Vance County along Thomas Road, not far from Kerr Lake in the Williamsboro community, north of Henderson.
According to the NC Forest Service, the fire is now 95% contained. WRAL News is working to learn how this fire started.
Wendell fire crews are also working to learn what caused a brush fire near several homes along Willard Woods Drive.
Crews were called around 4:44 p.m. Wednesday to reports of a brush fire. Officials said crews worked to put the fire out in a few minutes.
One home was damaged from melted vinyl siding.
No injuries were reported in either fire.
