Chatham County deputies are searching for an 18-year-old who is believed to be armed and experiencing a mental health crisis.
As of Wednesday, the Chatham County Sheriff's Office said a body was found in connection to this case. The medical examiner was called, and there is no ongoing threat to the community.

The CCSO did not say if the body belonged to 18-year-old William Bass.
On Tuesday night, deputies responded to a mental health call in the area of Henry's Ride Road near U.S. Highway 64 in Pittsboro. They said Bass was threatening to harm himself and to shoot any law enforcement who responded.
Deputies arrived and established a safe perimeter around the area. Deputies were able to contact him by phone in an effort to help him and de-escalate the situation.
During the call, deputies say Bass ran into woods in the area and fired a gun before moving further into the woods.
Investigative efforts found that Bass moved deeper into the wooded area before phone contact was lost, likely after his phone was turned off. Deputies then used drones in an effort to locate him.
