Weldon man shot and killed in Halifax County, two suspects identified

Halifax County deputies are looking for two people suspected of shooting and killing a Weldon man on Monday night.

Authorities responded to a call about shots fired around 10:45 p.m. Monday on Washington Avenue near West 9th Street.

Halifax County deputies and Halifax County Emergency Medical Services found Lamar Lashley dead in the roadway next to a bicycle. He was 48.

The sheriff's office identified the suspects as Dashan Taylor, 29, and Tyquan Brown, 23, both of Weldon.

Authorities obtained first-degree murder warrants for the arrest of Taylor and Brown. They should be considered armed and dangerous.

The sheriff's office said people should not approach Taylor and Brown.
