Suspect arrested in Chapel Hill bank robbery, faces felony charges

Authorities arrested a man Thursday suspected of a robbery earlier this week at a Bank of America in Chapel Hill.

Johnathan Lemount Florence, 52, is charged with felony robbery with a dangerous weapon and felony larceny. He is due in Orange County Court on Oct. 8.

Authorities have Florence in custody in Guilford County.

Around 1 p.m. Tuesday, officers with the Chapel Hill Police Department responded to the bank at 100 Banks Drive.

Investigators said Florence entered the bank, implied he had a gun and demanded money.

No one was injured.

Police said Florence left the scene in a red 2003 Chevrolet S10 pickup truck.
