Authorities removed over two dozen cats from a home Tuesday morning in Holly Springs.
According to a spokesperson for the town, Animal Control responded to concerns regarding multiple cats possibly being neglected at a home on the 100 block of Teal Lake Drive.

When officers arrived, they confirmed the presence of several cats and discovered the home had unsanitary living conditions.
Authorities deemed the home uninhabitable and removed 28 cats from the home.
Animal Control took cats to a shelter in the county. Authorities said the homeowner is cooperating with the town of Holly Springs to mitigate the conditions and remove any remaining animals.
